Getting to Glendale
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
The main airport serving Arizona, Phoenix Sky Harbor entertains more than 36 million passengers per year and is served by 21 airlines which provide nonstop service to over a hundred cities in the U.S. and around the world. Nonstop international service is provided by Aeromexico (Mexico), British Airways (London's Gatwick Airport), Lufthansa German Airlines (Frankfurt, Germany), Air Canada (Toronto), Air Jamaica (Montego Bay) and America West Airlines (Canada and Mexico).
Sky Harbor operates three passenger terminals. Ten national car rental agencies have service counters in the baggage claims area in each terminal. Some companies have cars available at the terminal while others use a courtesy van or bus to shuttle visitors to their off-airport location. In addition, limousine, taxi and shuttle service are available from any terminal.
Reliever Airports
Glendale Municipal Airport provides complete airport services for general aviation and corporate jet traffic. Amenities include the Airport Restaurant (open all day), corporate meeting space, enclosed hangars, flight instruction and car rentals. The Phoenix Goodyear Airport in Goodyear operates as a general reliever airport for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, offering fuel sales, overnight parking, a flight planning and lounge area, and a conference room.
Glendale Visitors Can Now Ride In Style!
The shopping, dining, and leisure experience in Glendale came full circle on December 3rd when the city debuted the Glendale Express, a free shuttle service between two of the state’s hottest shopping and entertainment venues.
Glendale Express will transport residents and visitors between Historic Downtown Glendale and the city’s sports and entertainment district, which include Westgate City Center, Cabela’s and the Zanjero District, hotels and stores.
The Glendale Express will run Monday through Saturday from 10am-6pm and the 45-minute loop, sixteen passenger shuttle will make nine loops throughout the day. It is also ADA accessible for those travelers who need a little extra help.
Extended hours for Glendale Express from January 26th through February 2nd are 10am-10pm. There will be no service on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day or February 3rd.
Stops for the Glendale Express include Glendale City Hall, Murphy Park, the Palmaire Parking Structure, Glendale Avenue/Public Safety Complex, Cerreta Candy Company, Glendale Civic Center/Bead Museum, Cabela’s, Zanjero District and Westgate City Center.
